A major golfing tournament has brought huge crowds to Jersey - along with washed up ex-golf pro Eddie St Pierre (Patrick Mower). A golfing friend of Charlie Hungerford (Terence Alexander) suffers a burglary at his mansion on the island. To add insult to injury the criminals make good their escape in the victim's own boat! Despite a high profile police operation the burglars soon strike another property, this time Charlie's, during which he is knocked unconscious. It becomes clear that St Pierre has a criminal past and links with several wealthy Jersey residents - and their wives. In particular he rekindles an old romance with Anne Beresford (Sarah Douglas), the wife of a prominent businessman.
